Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
Numbered ("we," "us," or "our") provides a mobile application that helps LDS ward members see their ward's program and activities, and gives ward leaders a private space for pastoral notes. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Numbered app and related services.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you create a Numbered account, we collect your name, email address, and optionally a profile photo and "about" bio.
Ward participation. When you join a ward, we store your role (member or leader), status, and any leader sub-roles assigned by the bishopric.
User-authored content. Numbered stores content you create in the app, including: sacrament meeting programs you publish, ward events and announcements, calling assignments, and — for leaders — private pastoral entries (interviews, notes, activity-level assessments, ministering follow-ups, todos).
User-imported contacts. Leaders may paste a table of ward contacts into the app. The imported data is contact information only — names and contact details, the kind the Member Tools app already lets you export. Numbered never imports callings, ordinance dates, temple-recommend status, mission history, or ministering assignments. This data is treated as the user's own contact list and is stored only in that user's account. Numbered does not retrieve, sync with, or integrate with any Church system to obtain it — it is pasted by the user from wherever they already have it.
Usage data. We collect standard analytics data such as app interactions, device type, operating system version, and crash reports to improve the service.
Purchase information. If you subscribe or make in-app purchases, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment card details.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To operate and provide the Numbered service — publishing and displaying ward programs, calendars, and announcements
- To deliver push notifications you have opted into (sacrament reminder, schedule exceptions, leader announcements)
- To enforce access controls — leader-private entries remain private to the authoring leader
- To analyze usage patterns and improve the service (via analytics)
- To respond to support requests
3. Leader-Private Entries
Pastoral entries authored by a ward leader (interviews, notes, activity-level assessments, todos, ministering follow-ups) are private to the authoring leader. They are not visible to other leaders in the same ward by default, and they are not surfaced to members. Firestore security rules enforce this at the database level. When a leader is released from their calling, their private entries remain accessible only to them — the next leader does not inherit them.
4. AI Processing
Numbered uses AI (Google Gemini) to help normalize pasted contact tables — detecting columns, standardizing formats — so the user doesn't have to hand-map every field. Pasted data is sent to Google Gemini solely to provide this feature and is not used to train general-purpose AI models.
5. How We Store and Protect Your Data
Your data is stored on Google Cloud Platform (Firebase/Firestore) with industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest. We restrict access to personal data to personnel who need it to operate, develop, or improve our services.
6. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
- Within the app: Content you publish (a sacrament program, a ward event) is visible to the members of that ward. Leader-private entries are never shared.
-
Service providers: We use the following third-party
services that process data on our behalf:
- Google Cloud Platform (Firebase/Firestore) — cloud hosting and data storage
- Google Gemini — AI processing of pasted contact tables
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You can:
- Access, update, or delete your account information through the app's settings
- Request a copy of your data by contacting us
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Opt out of non-essential push notifications
8. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. As noted above, we do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at support@numbered.app.
9. Children's Privacy
Numbered is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. International Users
If you are accessing Numbered from outside the United States, please be aware that your information is transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the app, you consent to this transfer. Users in the European Economic Area (EEA) have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to access, rectification, erasure, and data portability. Contact us to exercise these rights.
11. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate business purposes.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of Numbered after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
